| Most injuries
and property damage result from simple oversight. You should
establish a regular inspection schedule to focus attention and deal with situations before
they become problems. Since this is your home as well as your
business, an easy, systematic way for you to prevent most problems. |
There are seven
basic areas:
Activity Room, Office Area, Playground, Kitchen/Laundry/Storage
Areas, Restrooms, Vehicle, Outside.
All areas should be inspected using these forms at least once a
week. Heavy use areas like bathrooms and play areas should be inspected at least daily. Playground injuries and little fingers getting caught in doors are the most
common problems. |
| Obviously, inspections
are on-going by yourself, staff and parents; this format will assist you. Print it
and try it. |
| Each area should have
its own inspection and completed form. The individual who completes the inspection should
sign and date it for your files. If a teacher is in charge of a particular area, that teacher
can complete that inspection; in any case, you can document that all areas are being
personally inspected. |
